The Special Symphony is
really a must-see movie. This movie follows the journey of Jayden (Christian
Bautista), a Filipino musician struggling in his life’s purpose. At some point,
I know for sure that we also have experienced this way wherein we are not sure
of which way to go. We often doubt on our calling and worse, turn our backs from
it.
Aside from the calling or knowing our purpose in life, the movie
also have shown how hard it is to become a teacher. As a future educator, classroom
management really is one of the difficult tasks to handle inside the classroom.
We truly must be strategic and must think of ways on how to make the
teaching-learning process worthwhile. We are dealing with different pupils with
different backgrounds, cultures, traditions and even personalities but this is
not a hindrance to not give them what they deserve. There are truly lots of
reasons why learning is hindered in the teaching-learning process. Some of
these are lack of classroom management, inexperience when it comes to handling
classes and language barriers as well. Nonetheless, if we are determined and
passionate about teaching, those hindrances will surely be overcome.
I really liked the character of Jayden in this movie because he showed
compassion to her pupils (which have special needs) and passion with what he is
doing that he could even sacrifice her dream for their sake. Even though he
faced lots of challenges and even some doubted his capabilities in teaching,
still, he pursued because he already learned to love what he is doing. Indeed,
I was reminded that if you love what you're doing, even if it's hard, you will
still pursue and go on because that's what LOVE is all about. According to
Henry Adams, A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his
influence stops. And so, as teachers, we really have to do our best for the
betterment of our pupils because we have a big role in their lives.
